Local baseball players to participate in All-Star game

Some familiar faces will be retaking the field in 2023 as the SWMO Sports All-Star Baseball game is scheduled to take place today at Oley Scott Field in Lebanon. The first game will feature the “Underclassmen Game,” which will take place at 4:00 p.m., with the “Senior Game” to start at 7:00 p.m. It is the second annual All-Star game, according to SWMO Sports owner Skylan Akins, but the first time they will be having the game in Lebanon. “After having it at U.S .Baseball Park in Ozark last year and having a poor experience dealing with the people there, I knew I wanted to move it somewhere it would mean something, and Lebanon was a no-brainer,” said Akins. “It started with the history that SWMO Sports and Lebanon have with each other dating back to the founding of the business with Israel Potoczny and Coach Adam Thornhill. However, there is much more to my decision. After I waited for almost two months for an answer from US Baseball to see if they would even be interested, I reached out to coach (Alex) Weathermon about the possibility of having it at Oley Scott.
