Workforce Development Region begins truck driver training program

The Central Workforce Development Region is offering a program in Lebanon to train truck drivers. The CWDR is partnering with Clement Trucking to offer a comprehensive Commercial Driver's License (CDL) training program. CWDR spokeperson Sundi Jo Graham said they hope to address the current shortage of truck drivers. “We were able to get a grant for that, so we partnered with Clement because they have a great reputation for training CDL drivers,” she said. “We hope to be able to make a dent in the driver gap,” she said. “We want to get qualified people out there on the road.” She said the program has attracted many applicants already and had its first graduate last week.
