Virginia Lea Courson, 89, of Lebanon, died Tuesday morning, July 7, 2020, in Lebanon North Nursing and Rehabilitation in Lebanon.
She was born Oct. 29, 1930, in Stoutland, Mo. to Joseph Isaah and Bertha Myrtle Oliver Young.
On June 6, 1961, she married Arthur James Courson, and they shared 54 years before his passing on June 10, 2014.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Gary Don Courson, and eight brothers and sisters.
Virginia was raised in the Stoutland community and graduated from Stoutland High School in the Class of 1949. After she and Arthur were married they made their home in the Lebanon area and lovingly raised their family. In addition to being a devoted homemaker to her husband and family, she also worked in their restaurant operation.
She made her profession of faith in Christ early in her life and was a faithful member of Hillcrest Baptist Church for many years.
Survivors include a daughter, Susan Randolph and her husband Bruce of Lebanon; a son, David Courson and his wife Barbara of Stoutland; seven grandchildren, Matthew Randolph, Andrew Randolph, Jennifer Randolph and her significant other, Jeff Gray, Kelly Cameron and her husband Evan, Stephanie Bentch, and her husband Jamey, Sarah Lucas and Amanda North and her husband Travis; 13 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Junior Young and his wife Mary, and Jerry Young, all of Stoutland; a sister, Sharon Boyer of Pennsylvania; five nieces and nephews, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Virginia Lea Courson will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 10, 2020, at Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Lebanon. Burial will be in Stoutland Cemetery under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
