RAYMOND G. BLACKBURN

Raymond G. Blackburn, 80, of Lebanon, died Sunday, Oct. 16, 2022, in Lebanon.

He was born May 29, 1942, in Lebanon, Mo. to Roy and Gwendolyn Cromer Blackburn.

On July 22, 1962, he married Irene Glendenning.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Kendle Blackburn; two brothers, Dennis Blackburn and one in infancy, and by his sister, Ruth King.

Raymond graduated from Lebanon High School in the Class of 1960. In 1963 he joined the Lebanon Police Department as a dispatcher and also a parking meter attendant. After training and enough hours, he began patrolling. He retired as Chief of Police after 45 years of much dedication and hard work for his community.

He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Lebanon.

Survivors include his wife Irene; two sons, Randy Blackburn and his wife Suzanne of Rogersville, and Kevin Blackburn and his wife Sonja of Lebanon; his daughter-in-law, Debbie Blackburn of Lebanon; two brothers, Roy Blackburn of Waynesville, and Don Blackburn and his wife Becky of Lebanon, seven grandchildren, Chris Blackburn and his wife Brittini, Jordan Blackburn, Austin Blackburn and his wife Nikki, Christie McDonald and her husband David, Gage, Jessica and Abigail Blackburn; eight great-grandchildren, Sadie, twins, Willow and Daisy Blackburn, Kooper and Karson Blackburn, Callie and Hadley McDonald and Zariyah Kidd; other relatives and many dear neighbors and friends.

Funeral services for Raymond G. Blackburn will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, 2022, at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel with Pastor Bruce Doublin officiating.

Burial will be in Mount Rose Memorial Park in Lebanon, under the direction of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel of Lebanon.

Visitation for Raymond will begin at 12:30 p.m. Thursday prior to services at 2:30 p.m. also at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel.
