Jeff “The Carpenter’’ DeMuth, 66, of Lebanon, formerly of Bridge City, Texas, died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2021, in Lebanon.
He was born Feb. 23, 1954, in Chicago, Ill. to William Joseph and Betty Jean Kratofil DeMuth.
Jeff was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved dog, “Kenya.’’
He was born and raised in Chicago, Ill. He graduated from Palatine High School in Illinois, where he was an excellent athlete in cross country and high school football. He was voted Senior Class Athlete of the Year in 1972. Jeff lived at the Lake of the Ozarks for a short time before moving to Bridge City, Texas. He was a top-notched carpenter, specializing in building cabinets, but also in building and remodeling homes. He loved all kinds of very loud music, loved to fish, dance, run, joke and enjoyed landscaping and maintaining his yard. He was a good and friendly neighbor, and will always be remembered for his impersonation of Rodney Dangerfield.
Survivors include one son, Donald DeMuth and his wife Heidi of Columbia; three grandchildren; two brothers; Dave DeMuth and his wife Cecilia of Republic, and Bill DeMuth and his wife Nancy of Lago Vista, Texas; two sisters, Donna Wysocki of Chicago, Ill. and Carol Alexander and her husband Tim of Bartlett, Ill.; nieces and nephews, Joe and Jeremy DeMuth, Alexi Wysocki, Thomas Alexanderr, Julie Brown, Jaclyn Nikodyn, Janessa Hughes, Nanita Lynn Martin, Lisa Perry, Lorie Helling, Danielle Corona, Marie LaFronza Jessica and Laura Alexander.
No services are planned for Jeff DeMuth. As per his request, his body will be cremated under the direction of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel of Lebanon. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in memory of Jeff to Springfield area Alzheimer’s Association, and donations can be left or mailed to Shadel’s Colonial Chapel, at P.O. Box 948, Lebanon, Mo. 65536.
