Full Story: Lebanon boys varsity swim finishes 4th out of 9 at Carthage

The Lebanon boys varsity swim team performed well at the Carthage Invitational Thursday, Head Coach David Krev reported in an email.


Krev reported that the varsity swim team took fourth place out of nine teams at the Carthage Invitational, which took place at the Carthage YMCA. He was pleased with the team’s performance.


“All but one swimmer finished in the top 12,” Krev wrote. “Our team of eight swimmers was the best of the small teams. The team is swimming well.”


Krev also provided the meet results. The included times are the athletes’ final times for each event unless noted otherwise.


The 200-yard medley relay team of Lucas Keen, Jackson Fisher, Eli Havens and AJ Fisher took fifth place (2:02.14 minutes) out of six scored teams.


AJ Fisher took sixth place in the 200-yard freestyle (2:30.05 minutes), Hunter Fore seventh (2:30.36 minutes) and Jackson Guthrie 11th (2:48.23 minutes) out of 13 scored swimmers.


Havens took second place in the 200-yard individual medley (2:22.60 minutes) out of 13 swimmers.


In the 50-yard freestyle, Jackson Fisher took sixth place (24.26 seconds), Braden Johnson took 18th (29.50 seconds), and Wesley Frey took 20th (30.15 seconds) out of 28 scored swimmers.


Havens took first place in the 100-yard butterfly (57.66 seconds) out of 12 swimmers.


In the 100-yard freestyle, Keen took eighth place (58.90 seconds), Johnson took 12th (1:05.47 minutes), Fore took 15th (1:07.15 minutes) and Frey took 16th (1:12.23 minutes) out of 25 scored swimmers.


AJ Fisher took fourth place in the 500-yard freestyle (6:28.53 minutes) and Guthrie seventh (7:21.40 minutes) out of 14 swimmers.


In the 200-yard freestyle relay, the team of AJ Fisher, Keen, Havens and Jackson Fisher took fourth place (1:46.72 minutes) and the team of Frey, Guthrie, Johnson and Fore took eighth (unscored final time of 2:05.83 minutes and seed time of 2:05.07 minutes) out of nine scored teams.


Keen took fifth place (1:14.09 minutes) in the 100-yard backstroke out of 15 scored swimmers.


In the 100-yard breaststroke, Jackson Fisher took sixth place (1:16.11 minutes) out of 12 scored swimmers.


The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Fore, Guthrie, Frey, and Johnson took fifth place (4:52.46 minutes) out of five scored teams.
