Former State Rep. Beth Long dies at age 76

Former Missouri House of Representatives member and Laclede County Clerk, Elizabeth (Beth) Long died Monday in Lebanon. She was 76. She served as Laclede County Clerk from 1983-1990 and was the first woman elected to the position in the county. Long served multiple terms in the House of Representatives and was elected in a special election held on Feb. 6, 1990, to fill the position of the late Paul “Pete’’ Page who died while serving in the House in November 1989.
