Edward H. Srotyr, 74, of Phillipsburg, died Friday, Feb. 23, 2018, in Springfield.
He was born Aug. 17, 1943, in Berwyn, Ill. to Edward and Adeline Bouska Srotyr.
On Sept. 12, 1964, he married Jane Vesely.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jane in 2012; twin brother, Henry in infancy, and brother-in-law, Don Wall.
He was a Teamster, a member of Union 705.
Edward H. Srotyr was a member of St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church.
He is survived by a daughter, Debbie Difonzo and her husband, Ray, of Lebanon; two sisters, Sharon Cottongim, of Lebanon, and Sandra Wall, of Lemont, Ill.; two grandchildren, Ashley and Tony Difonzo; brothers-in-law, Tom Vesely and is wife, Ginny, of Hinckley, Ill., and Ray Vesely and his wife, Sue, of Lisle, Ill.; a sister-in-law, Pat Hogan, also of Hinckley, Ill.; Debbie’s best friend, Sue Whisson, who was also like a daughter to Edward, of Oak Lawn, Ill; other relatives and many friends.
A Celebration of Life for Edward H. Srotyr will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2018, at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel with Rick Howerton officiating.
There is no scheduled burial. At his request, his body is to be cremated under the direction of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel of Lebanon.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until service also on Tuesday at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel.
Memorials have been suggested to Conway Senior Center and donations can be left at or mailed to Shadel’s Colonial Chapel, P.O. Box 948, Lebanon, Mo. 65536.
