Vietnam veterans enjoy fun and fellowship at meetings

Group supports community with past and present in mind

There is talk neither of politics nor war during the Lebanon chapter of the Vietnam Veterans Association’s (VVA) monthly meetings, according to Vice President Michael “Doc” Yoshida. Instead, he said, the group focuses on camaraderie and community. “We have a lot of fun,” Yoshida said. During Monday’s meeting, the group ran through birthdays, anniversaries, and asked one another for medical updates. Yoshida says that the meetings, like this one, are informal and conversational.
