Donald Eugene Manes, 89, of Lebanon, died Sunday, Aug. 7, 2022, in Hartville.

He was born Dec. 16, 1932, in Stoutland, Mo. to Daniel Calloway and Eula Melissa Lane Manes.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Blonzie Helms, Della Lou McCann and Geraldine Orr; one brother, James Manes, and one son-in-law, Michael Keen.

He graduated from Stoutland High School. He proudly served our country in the United States Army from 1954 until his honorable discharge in 1956. He worked as a linesman for Laclede Electric for 40 years until his retirement in 1996. He enjoyed fishing, wood working and most importantly time spent with his family.

Donald was a member of Southern Heights Christian Church where he served as an elder, deacon, bus driver and Sunday School teacher.

He is survived by two sons, Kenneth Manes of Lebanon, and Christopher Manes and his wife Karen of Holden, Mo.; three daughters, Donna Keen, Clara Harrill and her husband Ron and Linda Brandt and her husband Bill, all of Lebanon; one sister, Zella Lee Prouty of Eldon; eight grandchildren, Brian Keen, Jesse Keen, Scott Gormley, Matt Gormley, Meagan Ivey, Tamara Pummell, Hunter Manes and Oliver Manes; nine great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Kelsey, Kyler, Derrick, Destiny, Rylen, Donavan, Silas and Michael; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services for Donald Eugene Manes will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2022, at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel with Pastors Larry Dugger and Kevin Ranfeld officiating. Burial with be in Mount Rose Memorial Park under the direction of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel. Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. until service time at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel.
