DAVID LEWIS HILL

David Lewis Hill, 72, of Lebanon, died Monday, Nov. 21, 2022, in his home near Lebanon.

He was born Nov. 8, 1950, in Centralia, Ill. to Roger and Barbara Hussman Hill.

David was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Barbara Hill.

He was raised in Centralia, Ill. and graduated from Centralia High School. In his youth he enjoyed hunting and fishing and had a normal life. After high school he worked for Shell Pipeline. He then moved to various locations in Oklahoma, Colorado, Kentucky and Missouri. In 1990, he became a professional guide in Telluride, Colo. He became a Kentucky Colonel for his work with Kentucky tourism. He was a member of NRA and guided former presidents and celebrities Bob Welch, and Joe Montana. he was a professional fly fishing and big game guide, and was featured in National Geographi, and on Filson cover several times. He also was featured in Ducks Unlimited and Trout Unlimited. He also donated his hunts to benefit charities such as breast cancer.

Survivors include his significant other, Joanetta Wood of Centralia, Ill.; a daughter, Heather Hill of Cortez, Colo.; a son, Joshua Hill of the state of Montana; seven grandchildren, Ashley, Kylie, Breana, Emilee, Ainsley, and Kaelyn; two sisters, Debby Arning and her husband Ray, and Ki Wilbur and her husband Matt; five nieces and nephews, Sarah, Rachel, Jessica, Jennifer, and Aaron; and a number of close dear friends.
