City chooses new city admin

The City of Lebanon has chosen Michael Schumacher of Kansas City, Mo., as the city’s next city administrator.

“I am excited Mike has agreed to help make our community his home and where he had decided to put his expertise to work for the community,” Mayor Jared Carr said in a press release. “I am looking forward to working with him and the community.”

Schumacher comes to Lebanon with 13 years of experience in municipal management. Since 2012, he has been the assistant city manager of Kansas City, Mo. He’s also served as Kansas City’s assistant to the director for the municipal correctional institution, animal health and public safety, tow services, neighborhood preservation and dangerous buildings divisions. Schumacher, who earned a criminal justice/administration degree from Central Missouri State University, is a certified public manager. He is also a member of the International City/County Management Association.

“My family and I look forward to joining the Lebanon community and becoming part of this city’s great future,” Schumacher said in the release. “I cannot begin to express how impressed I was with the leadership path the elected level and the dedication of city staff, and I am excited to join the city’s leadership team.”
