Brian Kern Grantham, 41, of Grovespring, died Wednesday, March 8, 2023.

He was born Aug. 19, 1981, in Jefferson City to Lee and Shirley (Ebker) Grantham.

Brian married Melinda Smith.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Brian was a flooring technician for many years. Most recently, he was working as a dietician. However, his most important role was daddy. He enjoyed playing his guitar, gardening with his wife Melinda, raising chickens and dogs and riding his tractor. He enjoyed walks at sunset and was known for his “dad jokes.’’ He will be forever missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived his wife, Melinda; daughters, MaryJane Grantham of Columbia; Hannah Lane, Michelle Sarto, Reagan Smith-Davis and one son, Kostner Grantham, all of the home; his parents Lee and Shirley Grantham of Grovespring; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jeff and Pam Smith of Lebanon; one brother, Corey Grantham and his husband, Thomas of the state of California; brothers-in-law, Joseph Smith and his wife Chasidy of the state of Ohio and Scott Smith and his wife Nocole of Springfield; several aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

There will be a memorial service at a later date for Brian Grantham. His body is to be cremated. There will a burial at a later date at Little Creek Cemetery in Wright County. Memorials have been suggested to Brian’s children’s education fund. Please make checks payable to Melinda Grantham. Donations can be left at or mailed to Shadel’s Colonial Chapel, P.O.
