Brenda Joyce Jones was born September 1, 1951, in Stoutland, Missouri to the late John Albert Cromer and Virginia Lee Baker Cromer. She passed away Saturday, April 27, 2024, in her home in Stoutland. At the time of her passing she was seventy-two years, eight months and twenty-six days of age.

Brenda moved with her family to Independence, Missouri as a child. They returned to Stoutland as Brenda was entering high school and she graduated from Stoutland High School.

On May 16, 1968, Brenda was united in marriage to Larry Jones and together they have shared almost fifty-five years of joy and laughter as well as tears.

Brenda is survived by her loving husband, Larry Jones; her daughters, Jennifer Bell and her husband Bradley of Lebanon, Christy Pendergrass and her husband Jason of Stoutland, and Caitlyn Schmude and husband Keith of Ava; six grandchildren, Jared Bell, Matthew Bell and his wife Braden, Lane Pendergrass, Hailey Pendergrass, Linkoln Crofts and Emma Crofts; four great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

Brenda had a strong work ethic and was employed at H.D. Lee, followed by Sunstrand in Camdenton, Missouri. She then owned and operated a kennel for over fifteen years. She had a love for animals and enjoyed having the kennel business. Brenda then was employed at Marathon Electric where she served as a supervisor.

She was a member of New Beginning Church in Stoutland.

Brenda loved her role as grandma. She was a big influence on the lives of her grandchildren and she enjoyed being with them. They were so important to her.

She was very talented in art and enjoyed painting. She also liked sewing, and gardening vegetables, as well as flowers. She canned vegetables every year. She liked reading novels and loved quarter horses. Brenda was always willing and anxious to take on new skills.

She was on bowling leagues over the years and liked playing games. She was a very friendly lady and liked being with her friends.

Brenda loved her family very much and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Words cannot adequately express the impact she has had on the lives of her family and so many others. Her love and commitment to her family will resonate with them for years to come.

A memorial service for Brenda Jones will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2024, at Beulah Baptist Church in Richland.
