Yolanda Fern Williams, 92, of Overland Park, Kan., died Sunday, Oct. 30, 2022, in Overland Park, Kan.

She was born July 3, 1930, in Chamois, Mo. to Ferdinand and Elizabeth Alice Townley Nolte.

In 1950 she was united in marriage to Bobbie Ellis Williams, and to this union one daughter was born.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Bob; her daughter, Gwenus Rennia Kirchhoff; a brother, Norris, and three sisters, Vinita, Glenda, and Doris Jean.

Yolanda’s outgoing and outspoken personality made her a memorable presence in many lives. After she and Bob were married, they made a home and raised their daughter in Fulton. They also built and expanded a cabin at the Lake of the Ozarks. A lifelong caretaker, Yolanda worked as a nurse and shared her many artistic talents by facilitating art and occupational therapy for the incarcerated until her retirement in 1985. She made many friends in Lebanon and Rogersville, where she was a devoted churchgover and a regular presence at country music performances around the area.

She is survived by a granddaughter, Dr. Chassica Kirchhoff; a grandson-in-law, Shane Hambelton, both of Detroit, Mich.; a number off nieces and nephews; her extended family; and many friends.

A funeral service for Yolanda Fern Williams will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, 2022, at Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Lebanon with the Rev. Marsha Vincent officiating. Burial will be in Mount Rose Memorial Park under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time in the funeral home. A memorial has been established for the Alzheimer’s Association or the Missouri Department of Conservation and contributions may be made through the funeral home.
