Yellowjacket tradition lives on

Howe family donates bell to high school

Posted

For more than a decade, Lebanon High School football players have rung the old Adams School bell before walking into the tunnel and running out onto the field to face their opponents.
The tradition had to be put on hold temporarily when the 150-year-old bell was moved back to its former home to be part of the Lebanon Alumni Plaza, but thanks to a donation from a local family, the tradition will go on for years to come.
Although it has been displayed at the Lebanon High School for many years, it didn’t become part of the pre-game ritual until 2008, according to head coach Will Christian.
