Wilma “Jean’’ Gaines, 81, of O’Fallon, Mo., died Monday, June 21, 2021, in Creve Coeur, Mo.

She was born May 17, 1940, in Phillipsburg, Mo. to Hansel and Letha Neasby Moore.

On Nov. 4, 1956, she married Billy Gaines.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Kenny Moore.

Wilma Jean was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, always putting the needs of her family first. She was a wonderful cook and baked everything from scratch. Her love language was food and if you left her house hungry, according to her family, it was your own fault. She loved tending to her flowers, and specially cherished the time spent with her children and grandchildren. She loved them deeply and unconditionally.

She was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her husband Billy; three daughters, Kimberly Goette and her husband Jeff and Cynthia Miller, all of O’Fallon, Mo. and Angela Favazza and her husband John of Wentzville, Mo.; one sister, Linda Moore of Stoutland; five grandchildren, Corrine Tison and her husband Tom, Kristen Kearns and her husband Brian, Nick Goette, Lindsay Knobelock and her husband Jon and Andrea Favazza; four great-grandchildren, Jack and Claire Tison, Adeline and Ben Kearns; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services for Wilma “Jean’’ Gaines will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 25, 2021, at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel. Burial will be in Lonesome Hill Cemetery, under the direction of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel of Lebanon. There is no scheduled visitation. Sign the guestbook at www.shadelscolonialchapel.com.
