WILLIAM LOUIS “BILL’’ PERSI JR.

William Louis “Bill’’ Persi Jr., 71, of Lebanon, formerly of California, died Sunday, Jan. 3, 2021, in Columbia.
He was born Nov. 5, 1949, in Upland, Calif. to William Louis Persi Sr. and Erma Montini Persi, who preceded him in death.
On Jan. 17, 1989, he married Donna Boretz,
Bill was the director of engineering at a hospital in California for many years. He also proudly served our country in the United States Marine Corps for two years.
He was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife Donna; four children, William Roy Persi of California, Jeffrey David Persi and his wife Stephanie, of California; Stacy Segebarth and her husband Brad of Lebanon, MO and Vanessa Cardoza of Idaho; two sisters, Pamela Harman and her husband Dennis and Debbie Persi all of Las Vegas, Nevada; ten grandchildren, Lindsay Darnell and her husband Charlie, Lauren Persi, David Cardoza, Cooper Cardoza, Jeffrey Persi, Addison Segebarth, Jake Persi, Haven Segebarth, Degan Cardoza and Selah Segebarth; two great-grandsons, Linkin and Ridge Darnell; other relatives and many dear friends.
Funeral Mass for William Louis “Bill’’ Persi Jr. will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2021, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church with Father David Miller officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19 at the Fort Leonard Wood Veterans Cemetery in Waynesville with military honors by the United States Marine Corps under the direction of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel of Lebanon. A rosary service will begin at 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 18, 2021, at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel, with visitation to follow. To sign the guestbook online, visit shadelscolonialchapel.com. Those guidelines will be monitored during this time to accommodate the family and their wishes. Memorials have been suggested to AAMVC (American Association of Missouri Veterans Cemetery) or Out of the Ashes Inc. Out of the Ashes is a 501c3 charity that was founded by Bill’s daughter, Stacy and her husband Brad. They do work in Korah and Ethiopia and provide an environment where each student is protected, cared for and given the opportunity to become all God meant them to be. They believe in a hand up and not a hand out will empower the children and the community to become healthy, safe, and self reliant, breaking the cycle of poverty.
