William Lee Gibbs, 72, of Lebanon, died Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2021, in his home near Lebanon, and his wife, Janice “Diane’’ Gibbs, 62, of Lebanon, died Friday, Aug. 27, 2021, in Mercy South Hospital in St. Louis.

William Lee Gibbs was born April 12, 1949, to Kenneth and Margaret Brown Gibbs.

On Dec. 20, 1975, he married Janice Diane Holt, and to this union two sons were born.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Gene, Howard, Dale and Bobby Gibbs; and a sister, JoAnn Rozin.

William Lee Gibbs lived all of his life in the Lebanon area, and received his education there. He was an experienced assembly line worker and had been employed by various boat manufacturing companies through the years.

Janice “Diane’’ Gibbs was born Sept. 13, 1958, in Princeton, Mo. to Charles and Janice Haynes Holt, who preceded her in death.

On Dec. 20, 1975, she married William Lee Gibbs, and to this union two sons were born.

She lived most of her life in the Lebanon area and graduated from Lebanon High School. After she and William were married, they made their home near Lebanon, and lovingly raised their sons. Diane was a devoted homemaker to her husband and family, and also worked for the H.D. Lee Company and Lowe Boats for several years. Later, she worked for Mercy Hospital until retiring.

Diane had attended the First Freewill Baptist Church in Lebanon for the past several years.

William and Diane are survived by their two sons, Jared Gibbs and his wife Christy, and Adam Gibbs, all of Lebanon; three grandchildren, Andie, Alex and Shelby; William’s brother, Donnie Gibbs and his wife Carla, of Lebanon; William’s two sisters, Sue Sutton and Judy Williams, both of Lebanon; Diane’s sister, Cathy Light of Lebanon; Diane’s two brothers, David Holt and his wife Lynne of Lebanon, and Danny Holt, and his wife Trina of Lebanon; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Services for William Lee Gibbs and Janice Diane Gibbs will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021, at the Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Lebanon with the Rev. Andy Rains officiating.

A visitation will be held from 1- 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021, at the Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Lebanon.

A memorial has been established and contributions may be made through the funeral home.
