WILLIAM DAVID “DAVE’’ RODDEN

William David “Dave’’ Rodden, 53, of Dixon, formerly of Lebanon, died Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2022, in Dixon.

He was born July 25, 1969, to William Don Rodden and Patsy Ann Peckenpaugh Johnson.

Dave was first married to Gabrielle Olma of Germany. In May of 2000 he was united in marriage to Anita Pearl Schwiderski in Toulon, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Don Rodden, and his mother, Patsy Ann (Peckenbaugh) Johnson.

Dave proudly served our country in the United States Army. He served a total of 14 years of military service. During his military career, he did service in Iraq, service in Africa, Afghanistan, Korea, Germany, and served in a designated imminent danger area, for which he received numerous medals. He was honorably discharged in Fort Sill, Okla. at the rank off Sergeant E-6.

Those left to celebrate Dave’s life include three children, Haley Rodden (Kolton) of Peoria, Ill.; Ashley Rodden of Chillicothe, Ill. and Daniel Olma of Germany; two grandchildren, Zac Berchtold and Maya Sidwell; seven sisters, Irene Hargett (Jerry) of Richland; Maggie Lemery (Bobby) of Lebanon; Kathy Luttrell (Richard) of Lebanon; Linda Rodden (Dennis Evans) of Richland; Joan Nighsonger of Lebanon,; Teri Wyatt (Greg) of Ridgefield, Conn. and Angie Johnson (Jeff Candler) of Lebanon; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.

A memorial service for William David “Dave’’ Rodden will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2022, at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel with John Pulley officiating. Burial will be in the Fort Leonard Wood State Veterans Cemetery at 1 p.m., also on Wednesday, Nov. 16, with military honors by the United States Army. There is no scheduled visitation. At his request, his body has been cremated under the direction of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel of Lebanon. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
