WILLIAM DAVID (BILL) BENCH

William David (Bill) Bench, 70, of Lebanon, died Thursday, April 28, 2022, in Lebanon.

He was born Sept. 7, 1951, in Lebanon, Mo. to William Victor Bench and Janet (Uder) Bench.

Bill was preceded in death by his father, William Victor Bench; mother, Janet (Uder) (Bench) Lindsay and one brother, Ronald Eugene Bench.

He grew up in Lebanon, and attended high school in Lebanon. He excelled in athletics and was a varsity star in track and basketball. Bill went on to attend Missouri State University and after graduation he enlisted in the USMC (Marine Corps). He served with distinction as a helicopter pilot and was deployed to Beirut, Lebanon. He later had the distinction of being selected for the honor guard in Washington, D.C. He was promoted to the rank of Captain and later served as an instructor pilot at Corpus Christi Naval Air Station in Texas.

Early in his life he put his trust in God and accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

He is survived by his wife Victoria Bench of the home; one son, Jacob Bench of Lebanon; one sister, Vicki (Bench) Hilton and brother-in-law, Mark Hilton; two stepchildren, Michael and Ashleigh Bogina, various uncles, aunts, nephews and nieces.
