WILLIAM B. "BILL" HINES

William Bradley “Bill” Hines, 74, of Lebanon, died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2023, at his home.

He was born Jan. 12, 1949, in Manhattan, Kan., the son of Walter and Ida A. Madden Hines.

Bill, as he was known to family and friends, enjoyed anything outdoors, from camping and fishing to working on his land, watching the fish and deer, and tinkering with anything that needed fixing. He served in the United States Army in Vietnam, where he was wounded and became permanently disabled. He loved his family and his dogs. 

On Sept. 22, 2000, he was united in marriage with Harvette Heafling. Together they shared 22 years of laughter and memories.

Bill is survived by his wife Harvette, of the home; children: Christian Hines and Eric Wayne White, both of Lebanon; and Waynette White of Montgomery City; grandchildren:  Heather Schmidt and husband Ben of Montgomery City; and Rodney Bernat of O’Fallon, Missouri; great grandchildren: Sophia, Payten, Nova, Paisley, and Emma; one sister Anita of Oklahoma; other relatives and many friends. 

Bill was preceded in death by his parents.

Those who knew Bill will forever cherish the times they shared together. He will be deeply missed. 

There was a committal service for Bill at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2023, at Ft. Leonard Wood State Veterans Cemetery in Waynesville. His body has been cremated.
