Warren Douglas Powell, 72 of Richland, Mo., a longtime educator, passed away Thursday, October 16, 2025, in his home after a courageous battle with Glioblastoma.
He is survived by his wife: Deborah Powell of the home; his mother: Bonnie Powell of Buffalo, Mo.; three children: Travis Johnson (Amber) of Sunrise Beach, Mo., Sarah Gibson (Lucas) of Richland, Mo., and Rachael Alexander (Nathan) of Ashland, Mo.; seven grandchildren: Savannah Gibson, Noah Johnson, Lily Gibson, Phoenix Johnson, Gabriel Gibson, Beckett Alexander, and Brooks Alexander; two sisters: Vona King (Terry) of Marshfield, Mo. and Joyce Smith ( Byron) of Buffalo, Mo.; mother-in-law: Jessie Gilbert of Richland, Mo.; brother-in-law: Robert and Sharla Vance of Springfield, Mo. and Bruce and Connie Gilbert of Richland, Mo.; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 21, 2025, in the First Baptist Church of Richland,Mo. Burial was in the Oaklawn Cemetery of Richland, Mo.
Visitation was held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 21, 2025, in the First Baptist Church of Richland, Mo.
Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Warren Powell to Compassus Hospice or the Warren Powell Memorial Scholarship Fund and may be left at Memorial Chapel of Richland or at First Baptist Church the day of the service.
