Violet J. Rowden, 87, of Richland died Wednesday, June 14, 2023, in Richland.
She was born March 13, 1936, in Hawkeye to Michael Joseph and Laura Mae Belle Van Natta Pollreisz.
In 1955 she was married to Kenneth Vernon Rowden.
Those preceding her in death were her parents, her husband Kenneth, who died in 1974 at the age of 42, and son Charley.
Violet worked as a nurse’s aide for over 23 years. She enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and anything outdoors. She liked to crochet. Family was very important to her, and every year when she was able the family gathered on Easter and Christmas for meals and time together. She will be deeply missed by all those who loved her.
She is survived by Violet is survived by her children, Joann Reinhart, Peggy Sue Avey, Vernon Roy Rowden, and Lisa Marie York, all of Richland; brother, George Pollreisz and wife Carolyn of Columbia; sisters: Patricia Picard and husband Gary of Richland, and Christine Thurin and husband Ralph of Wisconsin; twelve grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
No services are planned for Violet Rowden at this time.
