1SG (Ret) Michael John Potts, 72 of Waynesville, Mo., a retired United States Army First Sergeant, passed away Monday, September 21, 2026, in the Phelps Health Hospital of Rolla, Mo.
1SG (Ret) Potts is survived by his wife, Catherine Potts of Waynesville, Mo.; two sons, CPT Steven Potts (Richmond Hill police department) and wife Kimberly of Richmond Hill, Ga., and Dr. Christopher Potts and wife Rachel of Waynesville, Mo.; four grandchildren, Jaydn Potts and his wife Maddie of Waynesville, Mo., Avery Potts of Richmond Hill, Ga., Delaney Potts of Richmond Hill, Ga., and Zachary Potts of Waynesville, Mo.; one great grandchild, Gentry; sister, Dottie Rafter and husband Marty of Nottingham, Pa.; brother-in-law, William Beitzel III of Rolla, Mo.; along with several other relatives and friends.
Graveside services with military honors will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 23, 2026, in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery of Waynesville, Mo.
Celebration of Life services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Friday, October 23, 2026, in the Spearhead Church of St. Robert, Mo.
Memorial contributions may be made in memory of 1SG (Ret) Michael Potts and may be left at the funeral home or at the church on the day of the service.
