Two injury wrecks reported over weekend

Two injury accidents were reported Saturday in Laclede County by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

A Lebanon man was hurt when he was struck by a vehicle at 4:35 p.m. on Kinfolk Road, five miles west of Eldridge.

The Highway Patrol reported that Karen J. Mahabir-Zerbes, 57, of Lebanon, the driver of a northbound 1990 Buick LeSabre struck a pedestrian, James L. Matthews, 35, on private property.

Matthews was transported by ambulance to Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach, with what the Highway Patrol described as serious injuries.

The driver was reportedly wearing a seat belt.

Three people were hurt in a 9:05 p.m. wreck on Route W, three miles west of Lebanon.

The wreck occurred when Jessica L. Evans, 38, of Niangua, the driver of an eastbound 2003 Chevrolet Venture crossed the center of the roadway and overcorrected, causing her vehicle to travel off the right side of the roadway. The vehicle then struck an electric pole and overturned.

Evans and passengers in her vehicle, Cherokee D. Bohannon, 25, of Marshfield and a five-year-old female were transported to Mercy Hospital Lebanon, with what the Highway Patrol described as minor injuries.

All were reportedly wearing seat belts.
