Top cops take top honors

Posted
For the Best of the Best in Laclede County law enforcement, the county's top cops took the honors with Lebanon Police Chief Bryan Arnold tallying first place and Laclede County Sheriff David Millsap, second place. "That's very humbling because I definitely don't feel like I'm the best law enforcement officer around. There are many more better than me, but I think it's a good reflection on the department and the hard work that everybody does here. For me to get voted the Best of the Best, that's really people voting for the department. They do the amazing work," Arnold said. He has stories to back up his claim, including one about a sergeant, who at a family's request, sang a hymn with them after the passing of their loved one. Arnold said the job entails more than catching the bad guys. "It's a lot about being a good guy. I tell them there are a lot of times you have be tough, but you don't have to be tough all the time. They live by that," Arnold said. For more on this story see the LCR.
