The candidates are the incumbent Jared Carr, Jim White and Vince Joubert. The following consists of their responses to a questionnaire sent by the Record.

Jared Carr

What are your qualifications?

The Mayor is, by definition, the elected head of the City and responsible for listening to its customers(“citizens”) to implement the best services possible to achieve the customers goals for what community they want to live in. Through my management experience, at a locally owned factory, I have learned to listen to what is needed and create goals that are both economically sound and are achieved in a timely manner. I, also, have gained invaluable experience these past two and half years serving as your Mayor.

Vince Joubert

What are your qualifications?

I think I am the best man for the job. I’ve lived and worked next to the people of this town my entire life. I know their joys and feel their pains. I lead with my heart and am a man of my word.’’

Jim White

What are your qualifications?

I have 6 years of experience serving on city council. I am aware of the issues facing the city and the financials of the city. I also have 33 years of work experience in the government sector. I hold a Bachelors of Science degree from Drury with a dual major in Accounting and Business Administration.
