Thena Ilena (Peck) Dampier, 86, of Houston, Mo., died Friday, Jan. 15, 2021, in Houston, Mo.

She was born June 27, 1934, in Wright County, Mo. to John Henry and Maude Wade Peck.

On Oct. 31, 1951, she married Sidney Glenn Crowley Jr. and December 1966 to Robert “Bob’’ Loren Dampier.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Sidney Glenn Crowley Jr. on March 27, 1966, and seven siblings, Vietta, Mavis, Ruby, Raymond, Charles, Martha and Ralph.

In 1971, Thena and her family moved to Houston, Mo. where Bob ran the pool hall in Raymondville. In 1984, Bob and Thena bought Houston Discount Center. The business is now Crowley’s Homeworks. Bob and Thena enjoyed going to yard sales and dances at the VFW. Thena always put the needs of her family first. She was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker.

Thena accepted the Lord as her Savior at an early age.

She is survived by her husband Robert “Bob’’ Loren Dampier; her children, Sidney Glenn Crowley of Rhode Island; William “Bill’’ Ivess Crowley and his wife Laura of Houston, Mo.; Ramona “Mona’’ Lynne Crowley of Springfield; Kevin Timothy Crowley and his wife Laura of Houston, Mo.; Michelle Lea Dampier, also of Houston, Mo.; a stepdaughter, Jeana Jo Lane and her husband Jody; her faithful companion and dog, Gracie; 14 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services for Thena Ilena (Peck) Dampier will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2020, at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Dors Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Plad Cemetery under the direction of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel of Lebanon. Visitation will also held from 11 a.m. until service time on Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2021, at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel. To sign the guestbook online please visit shadelscolonialchapel.com.
