A 16-year-old who is a sophomore at Lebanon High School celebrated his 16th birthday Monday by making a solo flight.
Matthew Scott, the son of Mark and Leslie Scott, said he had been interested in flying since he was 11.
“When I was 11 I went to an air show in Kansas City and I’ve always had this interest in aviation ever since,” he said. “Last year, I got into contact with my flight instructor David Simmons, and we’ve been flying all year in preparation for this solo (on Monday).”
