The Lebanon High School girls’ swim team has had a great season in the water. During the SWMO championships on February 5, freshman Lucy Hough set a new school record in the 100 free while Grace Johnson set a new school record in the backstroke. Head coach Heidi Conti also said that Johnson, Hough, Bionca Little, and Olivia Reid set a new school record in the 400 free relay. In the 50 and 100 free, Hough finished 5th and 6th, respectively. She qualified for the state tournament that will be held on February 17-19 in St. Peters in the 50 free and 100 breaststroke and is currently ranked 9th in the state in the 50 free. Johnson qualified in the 200 IM and the 100 backstroke. “We are excited to be taking so many people,” said Johnson. “The team has really grown and improved over the past four years.” The team also qualified in the 200 medley relay, 200 free relay, and 400 free relay. "I'm so proud of everyone's hard work and perseverance through the season,” Reid, a co-captain, said. “I’ve loved watching everyone grow close together, and I can't wait for state.” For more on this story see Wednesday's LCR.
