Suspect charged in July 2 murder

A homeless man has been charged by the Laclede County Prosecutor in the death of Mark Pitts. Dustin Lee Combs, 28, who has ties to Lebanon, but was homeless at the time of the alleged murder was arrested in Washington County on July 12. Investigators developed Combs as a suspect on July 5, according to the Laclede County Sheriff’s Office. Combs has been charged with first-degree murder, armed criminal action and felony stealing. He is being held in the Laclede County Jail with bond denied, court records indicate. For more on this story see Wednesday's LCR.
