Superintendent talks about COVID-19 recovery

Joel E. Barber C-5 School District Superintendent Rachelle Jennings is recovering from COVID-19 that is linked to an exposure at the school’s summer school program. In a phone interview with Laclede County Record on Thursday, Jennings said that from her experience, the illness is different and more severe than a cold or the flu. “I know some people are saying, ’It’s just like a cold. It’s just like the flu.’ The Health Department has said everybody’s symptoms are different. For some people, it’s no big deal, and other people are down for an extended period of time like me,” she said. “The reason I’d say it’s different, I still felt like going to work and doing things with every cold I’ve had in my life, even the one time I remember having the flu, it did not put me down for two weeks like this has. It did not make your whole body hurt, I couldn’t even get out of bed.” For more on this story see Saturday's LCR.
