An on-paper loss against Norwood during Tuesday’s district championship for the Stoutland Tigers softball team was in reality a hard-fought achievement for the student athletes, according to coach Briana Bradbury. The similar statistics of the teams hides the progress Stoutland has made this year.
With the first practice of the season being the best Bradbury had seen during her six years of coaching at the school, the momentum carried them to districts. The softball team had not advanced to the district championships since 2019, and Bradbury suspected that excitement played a part in Tuesday’s game.
