Shirley Louise Atkisson, 94, of Buffalo, died Wednesday, May 4, 2022, in Lake Ozark, Mo.
She was born Feb. 26, 1928, in Springfield, Ill. to Alexander and Blanche (Jasper) Manahan.
Shirley moved to the Buffalo area with her family when she was seven. She graduated from Buffalo High School and married Joe Martin, and to this union two children were born. She later married James Atkisson and helped raise his seven children.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Rick Martin; one stepson, David Atkisson; one stepdaughter, Debra Hayes, and her sister, Mary Harrison.
She is survived by her daughters, Tena Martin of Tunas and Lesa Reidy of Lake Ozark; two grandchildren, Justin Reidy of Colorado and Christopher Reidy of Eldon; a niece, Barbara Ann Hicks of Lebanon; a great-nephew, Jacob Moore, and many other relatives.
Graveside services and burial for Shirley Louise Atkisson will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 9, 2022, in the Louisburg Cemetery with Dr. Robert Baker officiating, under the care and direction of Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home of Buffalo.
