The two announced candidates for Laclede County Sheriff faced off Thursday at a forum sponsored by the Lebanon Tea Party.
Matt Frederick and Gregory Mattes are both vying to replace David Millsap who is not seeking a third term in office. Both said Thursday they wanted to continue Millsap’s policies. They also avoided criticizing each other.
Mattes praised Frederick in his closing remarks.
“I want to make one thing clear. I think the world of Matt, we worked six years together, having each other’s back along with the other deputies in this agency."
