Russell “Newt’’ Young, 93, of Sappington, died Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2023, in his home.
He was born Dec. 20, 1929, near St. George to Omer and Ona Mae Chambers Young.
Survivors include his wife Imogene of the home; two daughters, Connie Young of Sappington, and Carrie Schlemmer and her husband Jeffrey of St. Louis; a son, Matthew Young and his wife Patti of St. Louis; two grandchildren, Katie Slater and her husband Warren of Troy, Ill. and Nicholas Young and his wife Bella of Joliet, Ill.; and two great-grandchildren, Riley and Victor.
Funeral services for Russell “Newt’’ Young will be held at noon Saturday, Feb.18, 2023, at Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Lebanon. Burial will be in Coldwater Cemetery in Manes with full military rites.
A memorial has been established to the Disabled American Veterans and donations may be left at the funeralhome.
