Roy Holler, 81, of Richland, died Wednesday, June 1, 2022, in Richland.

He was born Sept. 24, 1940, in Independence, Mo. to Melvin Clinton and Mildred Ruth Clark Holler.

On Nov. 26, 1950, he married Laura Jane Buchanan, 28 days after they met.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Laura Jane Buchanan Holler on Oct. 7, 2013; half brothers, Jimmy and Harold Holler, and half sister, Louise Langley.

He attended school in Lee’s Summit, Mo. He then joined the United States Army and served our country proudly for the next 20 years, prior to his retirement. He later joined civil service at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., retiring in 2011.

He is survived by his son, Roy Holler Jr. and his wife Thresa of Richland; four grandchildren, Beverly Katen, Dallas Comte, Aurora Holler and Kelli Legan and her husband Kailab; five great-grandchildren, Trinity, Isabella, Justin, Rosalee, Bo, and one on the way, Thomas; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Roy Holler will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel with Mike Allen officiating. Burial will be in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery near Waynesville with military honors provided by the United States Army, under the direction of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel of Lebanon.
