ROWE ETTA “SUE’’ BURNS

Rowe Etta “Sue’’ Burns, 83, of Lebanon, died Wednesday morning, Feb. 5, 2020, at her home.

She was born Oct. 12, 1936, in Matthews, Mo. to Rowe Everett and Edith Lancaster Langston.

On May 9, 1970, she married Alfred Leroy Burns, and they shared 35 years before his passing on Jan. 5, 2006.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a son, Larry Gene Masters, and two brothers, Dwight Gene and Larry Ray.

Sue was raised in East Prairie, Mo., where she graduated from eighth grade. She began working at the age of 14 in the Woolworth Store. She then worked for the Westinghouse catalog division. Later, she began buying, fixing up and selling houses in Owensville, Mo. After retiring, she moved to Lebanon.

Survivors include a daughter, Cherie Masters of Lebanon; two granddaughters, Amanda Ramsey of Columbia and Belinda Alexander of Baldwin, Mo.; three great-grandchildren, Roman, Veyda, and Miley; two sisters, Joyce Cannon and her husband Larry Miller of Lebanon, and Linda Bramlett of Moore, Okla.; a number of nieces and nephews who loved her very much, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

All arrangements for Rowe Etta “Sue’’ Burns will be private. Burial will be in Owensville Cemetery in Owensville, Mo., under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon. For more information or to visit the website go to www.holmanhowe.com.
