Ronald “Ronie’’ Sills, 73, of Amarillo, Texas, formerly of Lebanon, died Saturday, April 11, 2020, at Baylor Hospital in Dallas, Texas.
He was born Feb. 1, 1947, in Watonga, Okla. to Pete and Dorothy Sills.
On March 9, 1980, he married Karen Trammell and recently celebrated their 40th anniversary.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Cheryl Munholland and aunt, Eunice Desjardin.
Ron grew up in Oklahoma, Missouri and Texas. He graduated from Shallowater High School in Shallowater, Texas in 1965. He began working as a salesman at West Texas Peterbilt of Lubbock in 1972. WTP moved him to Amarillo in 1979 and he retired after 34 years as a manager and a partner with WT Peterbilt of Amarillo alongside, Milton and Betty Henson and Jim and Diane Henson.
He is survived by his wife Karen Sills; children, Dena Sills of Lubbock, Texas; Zackery Sills and wife Jenny of Amarillo, Texas, and Brianna Sills of Amarillo, Texas; grandchildren, Chase Stewart, Tye Edwards and wife Britney, Katie Sills, Nicholas Sills, Aiden Sills, and Olivia Sills; great-grandchildren, Lainnye and Kase Edwards as well as his best friend and brother-in-law, Dean Munholland; nieces and nephews, Deanie Munholland (Julie), Kelli Munholland Conway (Mike), Gene Munholland (Anna), and Tasha Rodden (David); and many great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family and friends.
Graveside services and burial for Ronald “Ronie’’ Sills will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 17, 2020, at Crossroads Cemetery near Lebanon with the Rev. Dean Davis officiating, under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon. Visitation will be 5-6:30 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions to Snack Pak 4Kids and Baylor Scott and White Dallas Foundation (Annette C. and Harold C. Simmons) Transplant Institute may be made through the funeral home.
