Rickie Prince, 73, of Stoutland, died Thursday, April 29, 2021, in Springfield.
He was born Feb. 3, 1948, in Highland Park, Mich. to Leonard Wilford and Euvea Sunshine Page Prince.
On June 29, 1990, he married Janice Kay Bechtel.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Euvea Prince and by his brother, Bobby Prince.
Rickie was longtime active and faithful member of Stoutland Baptist Church.
He graduated from Lincoln High School. He entered the United States Army with his brother, Nick and proudly served our country for three years during Vietnam before returning home. He worked for Chrysler in the 1970’s, while living Michigan. When he moved to Missouri, he worked for H.D. Lee, then as a security guard at Breech Hospital and eventually he worked civil service until his retirement in 2014.
Survivors include his wife, Janice; his sons, Steven Prince and his wife Lisa of Fenton, Mo.; Shannon Prince and his wife Sharon of Lebanon, and Doug Wyant and his wife Amy of Oskaloosa, Kan.; his brother, Nick Prince and his wife Gail of Clinton Township, Mich.; nine grandchildren, BriAnne Stickley and her husband Jesse, Jenna Wicker and her husband Keith, Kristen Perryman and her husband Brad, Jordan Prince, Shelby VanSickle, Lexi Besaw, Madison Prince, Emma Prince, and Ryan Besaw; eight great-grandchildren, Nadaleigh and Wyatt Stickley, Kolby, Austin, Kaitlyn, and Alivia Wicker and Jacob and Kayleigh Perryman; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, church family and dear friends.
Funeral services for Rickie Prince will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 5, 2021, at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel with Pastor Eddie Brandt officiating. Burial will be in Stoutland Cemetery, with military honors by the United States Army, under the direction of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel of Lebanon.
