Richard “Rick” Ervine Rogers was born September 20, 1955, to William Rogers and Norma Ward Rogers in Lebanon, Missouri. He departed this life in his Lebanon home on Monday, April 8, 2024. At the time of his passing, he was sixty-seven years, six months and nineteen days of age.
He was born and raised in Lebanon and did his schooling there. On February 10, 1973, he was united in marriage to Paula Grimes. They shared fifty-four years of happiness and memories before she passed away May 11, 2017. On March 26, 2020, he was united in marriage to Connie Marsh and they made many wonderful memories together.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Paula; a grandson, Zack Rogers; and three sisters, Barbara McMullon, Carol Angst and Brenda Black.
He is survived by his wife, Connie, of the home; his children, Jimmy Rogers, Dusty Rogers, Tom McIllwain, Zachary Buell and Caleb Buell; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his siblings, Jerry Rogers, Terry Rogers, Larry Rogers, Bub Rogers and Gary Rogers; and many aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
Rick had been an employee at Tracker Boats for over thirty years. He started his career with the boat manufacturer when they opened the plant in Lebanon. He advanced with the company and advanced as supervisor. He was a good employee and served as mentor to many who were employed in his department.
Rick had a strong and deep faith in God and prayed for his loved ones regularly. He began preaching at the age of twenty-one and was the pastor at Sleeper Pentecostal Church for several years before becoming an evangelist. In addition to preaching, he served as a Sunday School teacher. He loved his Father in Heaven and was ready to meet Him and spend eternity there.
In his spare time, Rick enjoyed baseball, hunting, fishing, painting, hunting for arrowheads, and watching his grandchildren play ball. He loved his family very much and always looked forward to spending time with them. His grandchildren were the light of his life and they brought him great joy.
Words cannot adequately express the impact he has had on the lives of his family and so many others. He leaves behind a legacy of love and service that will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 12, 2024, at Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, April 11 in the funeral home. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery near Lebanon. A memorial has been established and donations may be left at the cemetery.
