Richard Lee “Chief’’ Quick Jr., 68, of Kansas City, Mo., formerly of Waynesville, died Saturday, Oct. 29, 2022, in the VA Medical Center of Kansas City.

He is survived by his wfie Mary Quick of the home; his mother: Edith Quick of Waynesville; one daughter: Pamela (Quick) McLemore (Tali) of San Diego, Calif.; three stepsons: Alan Hoatland (Morgan) of Kansas City, Mo.; Nathan D. Hoatland of Pensacola, Fla. and Nicholas M. Hoatland (Annie) of Divide, Colo.; four brothers: Lee Quick of Waynesville; Robert Quick (Marie) of Geneva, N.Y.; David Quick (Miryam) of Meraux, La. and Chuck Quick (Ginger) of San Antonio, Texas; two sisters: Sylvia Dees (Mike) of Rolla, and Becky Doss (Kevin) of Ballwin, Mo.; 15 grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, 2022, in the Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville/St. Robert. Burial with military honors will follow in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery of Waynesville, under the care and direction of Memorial Chapels and Crematory. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until time of service at 12:30 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Richard Quick to the Wounded Warriors Project or The Vietnam Vets Association and may be left at the funeral home.
