RICHARD “DICK’’ DOYLE RADER

Richard “Dick’’ Doyle Rader, 83, of Marshfield, died Monday evening, Dec. 28, 2020, as a result of Covid complications.

He was born Aug. 4, 1937, near Conway, Mo. in Dallas County to Raymond and Gladys (Robinson) Rader.

On July 20, 1958, he married Dartha Dee Melton.

Je was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Robert Douglas Rader; and his sister, Joyce Ann (Rader) Fortson.

Dick served our country in the Air Force branch of the military. Besides Missouri, Dick lived in many states including Illinois, Texas, Arizona and California. He also was a teacher and worked as a manager of Webco Custom Industries.

He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church where he served as elder.

Survivors include his wife Dartha; two daughters, DeAnne and her husband Rick Meyer of Marshfield; and Susie and her husband Robert Smith of Conway; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Meyer, Lucas Reynolds, Emily Meyer and Sierra Smith; two great-grandchildren, Aurora Meyer and Haven Gott; a sister, Judy and husband Jack Appelgren of Loves Park, Ill.; two brothers-in-law, Bill Fortson of South Bend, Ind., and J.B. (Dude) and his wife Janelle Melton of Marshfield; several nieces and nephews, and many cousins.

Funeral services for Richard “Dick’’ Doyle Rader will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 2, 2021, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Marshfield with the Rev. Rick Meyer officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at Rader Lutheran Cemetery, under the direction of Day Funeral Home of Marshfield. No formal visitation will be held but friends and family may pay their respect from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Thursday at Day Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Rader Lutheran Cemetery. Due to Covid 19, masks and social distancing will be required. There will be limited seating at the funeral home.
