Rexford Jones “Rex’’ Hamlet, 90, of Louisburg, died Sunday, Feb. 21, 2021, at his home near Louisburg.
He was born Sept. 8, 1930, in Buffalo, Mo. to the late William Bertram and Ethel Mae (Vest) Hamlet.
On Aug. 6, 1953, he married Margaret Myrtle Hudgins, who preceded him in death. He also was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Clarabelle Young.
He was saved at the Louisburg Baptist Church in 1964.
Survivors include his children, Debbie Briant, Kathy and Sam Ball, and Brent Hamiet; five grandchildren, Candice Ball, Judson Ball, Matthew Eubanks, Chase Hamlet, and Brock Hamlet; four great-grandchildren, Bailey and Alexandra Richards, Marigold Ball, and Tristan Burks; and his brother, Tuff Hamlet; also other relatives.
Graveside services for Rexford Jones “Rex’’ Hamlet will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, 2021, in the Memorial Gardens of Cemetery in Buffalo with the Rev. Loren Dryer officiating. Visitation will be 12:30-2 p.m. Thursday at the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home in Buffalo. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Louisburg First Baptist Church.
