REV. SAMUEL D. PRICE

The Rev. Samuel D. Price, 87, of Lebanon, died Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 30, 2020, at Mercy Hospital Lebanon.

He was born July 3, 1933, in the state of Maryland to J.D. and Katherine Firebaugh Price.

Samuel was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; two sons, Danny Price and Joseph Price; two brothers, Timothy Price and William Price; and a sister, Janet Katherine Hardin.

He was raised in Tennessee and graduated from high school there. He entered the military as a young man and served his country faithfully in the United States Air Force and spent some time in Korea. He then lived in Alaska for several years. He began working as a general contractor in Tennessee and Arizona before coming to Missouri 28 years ago. He and Linda made their home near Lebanon and Sam worked as a brick mason for a number of years, and was the pastor of the Wood Street Baptist Church for 17 years. He was also active in the jail ministry. He won countless number of people to the Lord during the last 15 years.

Sam had made his profession of faith in Christ and was his faith was central in his life. He was ready and anxious to meet his Maker.

Survivors include two daughters, June Buckles and her husband Casey of Lebanon, and Belinda Ellis and her husband Tom of Springfield; a son, Jake Arterburn of Lebanon; seven grandchildren, Gabriel, Clarissa, Jacey, Mason, Luke, Lauren, and Alyssa; three great-grandchildren, Annabelle, Benji, and Zeb; two brothers, James Darrel Price of Yuma, Ariz. and Richard Andrew Price of Elizabethtown, Tenn.; two sisters, Lois Santos of Ormond Beach, Fla., and Susan Bamberg of Athens, Ga.; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for the Rev. Samuel D. Price will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2020, at the First Baptist Church in Lebanon with the Rev. David Arnold officiating. Burial with Full Military Honors will be in Mount Rose Memorial Park in Lebanon, under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon. Visitation will be 6-7:30 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
