Reopening Laclede County

Posted
With businesses set to begin reopening throughout the state May 4, local officials met with business owners Tuesday afternoon to discuss how the process will work. Laclede County Health Department Administrator Charla Baker said the department expects to have guidelines ready for local businesses on Wednesday afternoon. “We will put that on our Facebook page and we will work with our staff and call the food establishments and get that out,” she said. Baker said guidelines to will follow recommendations issued by Gov. Mike Parson as he announced plans Monday to lift a statewide stay at home order next week. She said that before the governor finished speaking, “Our phones were ringing about what to do and we responded to some of those questions.” Lebanon Mayor Jared Carr echoed comments made by Parson that reopening the business community will not be instantaneous like turning on a switch. “It’s turning a dial, I like that analogy, and hopefully you can turn it up to 11 here pretty quickly,” Carr said.
