Renate M. Harris-Lavryk, 82, of Lebanon, died Sunday, Oct. 17, 2021, in Springfield.

She was born Nov. 14, 1938, in Neustade bei Coburg, Germany, to Markus Koenig and Martha Mueller-Litz Koenig.

On May 27, 2012, she married Joseph Lavryk.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Brite R. Harris; one grandson, Christopher Harris, and seven siblings, Helmut, Uli, Krista, Erich, Maria, Albert and Norbert.

Renate was a devoted wife and mother, the needs of her family came first. She enjoyed traveling with her husband Joseph. She had a beautiful flower garden and recently won yard of the month, which she was extremely happy about. She enjoyed photography and embroidery. However, her most treasured moments were those spent with her family. She loved them completely and unconditionally.

Renate was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lebanon.

She is survived by her husband Joseph Lavryk; her children, Edward Harris and his wife Doris of Gernabtl Rev. Larry Harris and his wife Elizabeth, Manja Zeigenbein and her husband Sammy and Tommy Harris, all of Lebanon; siblings, Hans Koenig and his wife Lisbeth, Klaus Koenig and his wife Petra and Marga Streit and her husband Erich and their families of Germany; seven grandchildren, Vicky Harris, Joshua Harris, Daniel Zeigenbein, Ashley Zeigenbein, Eric Zeigenbein, Kayla Miller and Haley Rogers; three step-grandchildren, Max, Devon and Tori; seven great-grandchildren, Cheyenne, Joel, Kyle, Damian, Ellis, Steven and Dewey; one great-great-grandson, Tyler; other relatives and many friends.

A memorial service for Renate M. Harris-Lavryk will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, 2021, at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel with the Rev. David Oberdieck and the Rev. Larry Harris officiating.

There will be a burial at a later date. At her request, her body is to be cremated under the direction of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel of Lebanon. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. until service time at 2:30 p.m., also at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel.
