The Lebanon R-3 School District has been approved to provide and administer free COVID-19 rapid tests to students and staff, the district announced Friday.
The district has received the BinaxNOW test, which is described as an antigen test that detects the presence of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes a COVID-19 infection, in about 15 minutes.
The specimen for the test is collected via a nasal swab. The school district said that the test has been found to be more than 97 percent accurate.
