Public safety sales tax could be on November ballot

Posted

Lebanon voters may be asked to decide on a proposed public safety sales tax in November.
At Thursday night’s work session, the Lebanon City Council discussed plans for constructing a public safety building funded by the city’s Capital Improvement sales tax.
City Administrator Mike Schumacher told the council, the new facility will require additional spending on staffing and equipment. He said these costs could be covered by a half cent sales tax for fire department and police operations and capital projects.
